here’s so much to explore, and there’s another sneaky reason you should make St. Maarten your next destination: THE COLOR OF THE WATER! It seems like we’re always chasing blue waters, trying to find those that mimic the likes of Bora Bora or Maldives, right? Well, I have news! I found them, and they are along the coast of St. Maarten!

THE BEACHES

Have you ever heard of Viator? If you’re a travel fan, the answer is likely yes. But if not, don’t worry! This blog post will briefly explain why booking through Viator is an absolute must for any traveler.

Viator is the world’s leading online marketplace for tours and activities. It was founded in 1995 and has since grown to be one of the most trusted travel booking websites. Here are seven reasons why you should book through Viator.

ORIENT BAY BEACH

This is probably the most popular beach on the island, known mainly because the French side is clothing optional. It’s a great place to visit because there are so many things around it and lots of places to stay, eat, drink, and find excursions. It has beautiful water and seems tame, so it would be a good family beach. Great, low-back vibe!

GRAND CASE BEACH

We visited Grand Case Beach for a mid-day stroll through the shops, and while we were there, I snuck a peak at the beach…..holy cow! The beach in Grand Case was gorgeous! These are the bluest waters I’ve seen in a really long time. I’m talking Bora Bora pretty! While I didn’t do a lot of shopping myself, it was great to see what all Grand Case has to offer! I stopped to eat at LoLos, and it was fantastic! I ordered the BBQ; it was so much food; I had dinner too!

MAHO BEACH

Maho Beach was SO. MUCH. FUN. I absolutely loved it! It’s another gorgeous beach with beautiful blue waters, surrounded by restaurants and places to hang out. But what makes it so unique is its location. It’s located directly by the airport. When planes land, they fly over Maho Beach, and they do it so low that it almost seems like you can touch the plane. Everyone tries, and no one can, but it makes for some great photos/ videos of people trying!

Maho is also great for families, and if you have a plane lover in your family, take them to experience the planes flying over! Word of caution, when the airplanes turn around to take off, there is a massive blowback from the engine. I saw a lot of hats and other personal belongings flying all over the place.

Sint Maarten is more than just a really cool cruise stop. It’s two countries in one! You can get a proper Dutch and French feeling without having to travel all the way to Europe! I loved it here! Everything about it; the beaches, the safety of the island, the relaxed and chill vibe, everything. If St. Maarten is not on your list, I suggest adding it!
